Students Study Slime
"This was great." "I wish my math class was like this." "Can we come back and do more math?" Do your students say these things? In June, Big Ideas Learning field tested activities with its student advisory group. This group consists of a variety of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, some who love math, others who really struggle with math, and a few who think that they hate math! To help students understand ratios and proportions, they were engaged in an activity to make slime! Each student needed to reduce the size of the recipe to make their own slime. They calculated, measured, mixed and had fun! Activities that engage your students will motivate them and help them learn. Fun and challenging activities can be found in our Big Ideas Math books that are being written just for teachers and students in the state of Florida.
